The Dot

I found this "Dot Day" activity really enjoyable because there were no guidelines or restrictions on what we were able to create. I feel like often times, students can struggle with art because the resulting outcome does not look like the example, or even like their friend's project. This type of activity allows students to create something on their own without having to compare the resulting art with other expectations. I chose to create a NSU design for my dot because this week is Gypsy Days!

Extension Activity: Another thing that I think would be fun to incorporate "Dot Day" into the classroom would be to use the dot markers to work on letter or number recognition in a Kindergarten classroom. You could have your students "trace" the number/letter you are working on for the week with dots using the dot markers. This is a very simple way that you could incorporate using dots during "Dot Day".
